Some 70 people in danger zone refuse to evacuate

Some 2,000 people are still cut off. They included those living in Taman Bukit Utama, Taman Bukit Jaya and the Casa Del Sol, Kyoto Gardens and Oakland condominiums. Water supply has been restored to these areas but they still do not have electricity.

DCP Khalid said they had been provided with food and drinks.

Yesterday evening, the army managed to construct a temporary bridge over a monsoon drain, enabling those trapped to drive out of the area.

Police have set up hotlines at 03-41070055 and 03-41086321 for friends and family to call and provide information to the authorities.
